Have
you ever come across the story of the prostitute who gave water to a dog and
because of that deed, she entered Jannah.? Many many times I reflect on this
story and its actually change my lens on how I see people around me. Long enough
that its in my head but I’m finally pouring it into writings. Have you ever
think why in many professions or personality,
Allah would chose a prostitute in this story? You know, it could be a
poor woman who sell bread, or an old lady who gardens, or a garbage man, or a
shepherd. But still, Allah chose a prostitute. Why?
In our world nowadays, we are prone to judge
people based on how we see things that are potrayed in front of our sights. And
that just it. We see things that is haram and we say ‘this person is going to
hell’. Well what more for a prostitute? Can you imagine? It is the filthiest
job that a person could have. This lady literally sell her body to earn money,
this haram is not a small thing, not a sin that a muslim would usually engage
with . It is a big deal of haram
thing, major major sin, the job was haram, the money she earned was haram, what
more of the food that she bought to survive, its haram, yet she entered Jannah?
Let
me enlighten you the wisdom of this story. This story should be a firm and solid
benchmark on how we filter everyone that go through our vision. Allah is
telling us, no matter who we see, what they wear, who they are, we are not the
one who can decide if they will enter Jannah or Jahannam. Like compare to
someone who doesn’t wear hijab for example and a prostitute.. Which one is
worst? You get what I mean? We easily label someone ‘unislamic’ on what is
potrayed. But dear, from this story we
should know that an ‘unislamic’ person is still eligible to go to Jannah and Islamic
person does not always end up in Jannah. Could a prostitute be more unislamic
to you?
My
point is simple folks.
From this story, we should know that absolutely anyone with absolutely
any deed despite of absolutely who
they are, they are absolutely still
able to go to Jannah, as long as they are Allah’s slave. Period.
However
I hope this is not an excuse that people wouldn’t want to strive to be a better
muslim. And they would say ‘Only Allah can judge me’. Come on, be realistic. On
a personal outlook, we should strive
to be better for Allah, we should try
our best to follow what Allah wants and leave the things that He dislikes. BUT.
We just need a ‘brain-cleansing’ on how we screening people around us. In fact,
don’t screen. Just pass by. Lol
Best advice ever!
